Enjoying Oilbars

I’ve been travelling on an artistic journey over the last year, changing my medium to oil, and experimenting with mediums and style. Things are definitely happening, and my most recent paintings reflect that. A new discovery was Oilbars, fantastic fun, and I have been using them with pastels, and scratching into them with pencil. I’m enjoying the results, and what it brings back to the canvas.

Winter Fair 2010

Hi Everyone,

It’s that time of year again, and the Dalkey Castle Winter Fair is here. I am exhibiting again this year in the gallery section. I’ve actually been taking a bit of time out to just draw, and am now coming back to my canvas to see what that process has brought to my painting. It is exciting, and I really like the results so far. So if you are around Dalkey this coming weekend, please pop in and say ‘Hi’, its always nice to meet people. If you would like to attend the opening night on Friday from 7pm, and get 10% discount on purchases, you will need an invitation, so please let me know and I will post some to you.

Its finished!! This painting has brought back many childhood memories for myself and others around me, and so it has found a home!

New Paintings in Progress

After a great weekend in Dalkey, I have found huge excitement and energy and so immediately harnessed it and put it into two new paintings!! The beginnings of these paintings are photographed here. Look out for the finished pieces at a later date!

The Winter Fair

Its that time of the year again, and the Winter Fair is coming to the Dalkey Heritage Centre on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of November. Please be sure to visit my stand in the gallery space, I’m looking forward to meeting you.

New Work in Oils

Its been awhile since I have posted anything here, but I have been busy changing from acrylic paint to oils, and I LOVE working in oils. The freedom is absolutely fantastic! The paint moves so much easier, and has also given me a new style where I am using my brushes more and less of my pallette knife. You can come and see the results for real at the Winter Fair in the Dalkey Heritage Centre on the 14th and 15th of November. Please come and say hello, I’d love to meet you.

Artwalk

As part of an initiative organised through Dublin City Council, I will be exhibiting my work along the boardwalk on the Liffey this weekend, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th, between O’Connell Bridge and Halfpenny Bridge, from 11am until 5pm. If you are in town this weekend, please come along and say hello. It would be nice to meet you.
